Summer is in full swing, and Surrey is filled with many fun events, including Fusion Festival, Music on the Plaza, and more. Here is our list of 10 things to do around the city this month.

Sounds of Summer Music Series

  • What: From Bluegrass to New Orleans Jazz, Surrey’s free Sounds of Summer concert series brings toe-tapping tunes to the city’s beautiful park settings. Please bring blankets or folding chairs to enjoy each performance.

  • What: FVDED in the Park is returning to Holland Park this summer for the festival’s fourth straight year. This year, Blueprint and Live Nation Canada have signed on Future, Kygo, Kaskade, Ferg, Kehlani, and many more artists over the two-day high energy festival. FVDED in the Park 2018 is expected to draw over 40,000 festival-goers over the two days in Surrey.

Outdoor Movie Nights in Cloverdale

  • What: Bring your snacks, blankets and chairs and enjoy Cloverdale’s Outdoor Movie Series. Outdoor movies will run weather permitting. Please call 604-598-7960 ahead of time to confirm if the movie is still happening.

Bridgeview Community Festival

  • What: A celebration of the people and families residing in the Bridgeview Community. Have your personal or group portait created by a professional caricature artist, Ted Couling, or a balloon creation crafted by the Go Bonkers Team. Participate in a variety of indoor and outdoor activities presented by our many exhibitors, and enjoy live stage performances by Norma McKnight and Merlin the Wizard. The Bridgeview Community Centre staff will also be providing a barbeque while supplies last.

Music on the Plaza / City of Surrey

  • What: Enjoy sounds of Jazz, Cuban, Country and Swing music every Tuesday evening in July and August. Acts include Beautyshop Dolls, Sweetpea Swing Band, Taylor Rae & The Backseat Drivers, and more.
  • When: Every Tuesday from July 10 to Augst 28, 2018

Glitter Unicorn Festival

  • What: With lively entertainment and delicious treats, the Glitter Unicorn Festival is both a “fun raiser” and a “fundraiser.” An assortment of freezies will be on sale to keep you cool in the summer weather. Admission is free but all sales will be donated to the Surrey Food Bank. A bottle drive will also be on-site so bring your recyclable bottles for donation.

Honeybee Festival

  • What: The Honeybee Centre’s annual Honeybee Festival features amazing and educational entertainment for everyone. There will be face painting, concessions, and live musical entertainment for the whole family.

Eat Play Live Well Street Fair

  • What: Learn from local groups about health, financial literacy, safety and other lifestyle topics. Eat Play Live Well Street Fair also brings fun and entertainment for the family, with live performances from local musicians, a bouncy castle, games and interactive activities. Take a stroll among booths to support local vendors and see the well-crafted products they create. Food vendors will also be on site to keep you energized during the fair.

Fusion Festival

  • What: The two-day festival brings together over 45 cultural and community groups from around the world and more than 150 artists and performers. Live entertainment, food pavilions and interactive cultural activities will keep you busy throughout the weekend. Featuring Walk Off The Earth, Rhanjit Bawa, Wintermitts, and more.

Community-Wide Garage Sale

  • What: Pick up great deals on gently used clothes, book, kids toys, sports and active gear, furniture and more!  There will also be food and drink for purchase as well as a few local vendors.
