Snowfall warning issued for Whistler on Wednesday

Good news powder hounds! Whistler is set to get up to 20 cm of snow today, after a snowfall warning was issued by Environment Canada.

The warning, issued around 3 pm on Wednesday, said aĀ strong Pacific frontal system had resulted in a “rapid accumulation” of snow.

By the time the front moves out of the area this evening, it’s expected between 15 cm and 20 cm of the white stuff will be blanketing Whistler.

Overnight temperatures are expected to stay near freezing, and an unstable airmass moving south could bring another 5 cm of snow by Thursday.

Sounds like it’s almost time to strap on our snowboards again!
