Yes Vancouver has been blanketed in the white stuff overnight, but this is much more than a mere dusting. In fact Environment Canada has issued a weather warning with up to 5cm of snow expected.

“Snowfall accumulations will vary across the region,” the agency warns. “However, higher elevations and communities away from the water are more likely to see accumulating snow…Be prepared to adjust your driving with changing road conditions.”

The good news, is that the snow will pass this evening as the weather moves south into Washington State. The bad news is that more snow is forecast for Metro Vancouver later in the week.

Better dig out those snow boots after all!
