Over the last several weeks North Vancouver RCMP have investigated four suspicious shrub and grass fires in the Mosquito Creek area.

Two took place on May 23 in the creek area and two occurred on June 5 in the Larson area.

According to North Vancouver RCMP, one of the fires spread rapidly from the hedges on a property to a nearby tree and the flames shot nearly 60 feet up into the air.

Police identified two people of interest who are associated with these suspiciously set fires and are asking for the public’s help in identifying them:

Person 1:

  • Caucasian male
  • Approximately 19-years-old
  • Severe acne on his face
  • Wearing grey shorts

Person 2:

  • Indo-Canadian male
  • 5’6″ tall (167 cm)
  • Wearing all black: hoody, jeans, shoes, and baseball cap
  • Wearing an Oakland Raiders t-shirt

Police are asking anyone who may have information on these fires or the persons of interest to contact the North Vancouver RCMP Arson Unit at 604-985-1311.
