4 highly-anticipated international chains opening in Vancouver
Vancouver welcomes international chains into its foodie scene like millennials welcome avocado toast for breakfast, but there are some that we can hardly wait for.
Eateries like Uncle Tetsu, Blaze Pizza, Milkcow, and Nana’s Green Tea all experienced successful 2018 openings and expansions in Vancouver, so it’s clear that international brands are going to continue to flourish as they open more and more concepts here.

Tsujiri Vancouver

Tsujiri has been around since 1860, and the brand is widely recognized for using green tea leaves from Uji in Kyoto, and grinding them using a traditional method before making their famous array of teas, baked goods, and dessert. We’ll keep you posted on an exact opening date along with what will be on the menu when this highly-anticipated spot opens.

Haidilao Hot Pot

Haidilao Hot Pot will be located at 5890 No. 3 Road in Richmond. And according to to the brand’s Canadian marketing manager, Ryan Pan, they are aiming for a mid-December opening date. Known for its epic hot pot, this chain of restaurants was found in China over 20 years ago, and since then its grown to have dozens of locations spread across the US, Singapore, Japan, and Korea.

Hot-Star Large Fried Chicken

Taiwanese chicken giant Hot-Star Large Fried Chicken has experienced some delays with its first BC location, slated to open in Richmond, but the chain is aiming to open it in early 2019 with a downtown Vancouver spot to follow.

Zaatar W Zeit is set to open at 535 Granville Street, and we’re hoping it’s soon. This spot is pop-u-lar in the Middle East (once you peep their Instagram, you’ll see why). We wouldn’t be surprised if you hadn’t heard of this eatery before because it’s the first Canadian location for the Lebanese chain.
