Charges have been laid from the August homicide of a young woman outside a Granville Street nightclub.

On August 11 just before 2 am, 28-year-old Lauren Lindsay McLellan and another woman were arguing inside Caprice Nightclub before being asked to leave by staff. McLellan was then allegedly assaulted by the woman and fell to the ground. The attacker had to be restrained by one of the bouncers.

When police arrived, witnesses told them that the woman and her friend got into a taxi and left the scene. They were found by police exiting the taxi in Gastown a half an hour later.

McLellan was rushed to hospital with severe head trauma, but was pronounced dead that same day.

Now 29-year-old Samantha Nadine Doolan is charged with manslaughter and was arrested by Vancouver Police Friday morning.

This is Vancouver’s fifth homicide of the year.
