There's a winter solstice parade and celebration in Toronto tonight

Dec 21 2018, 10:28 pm

The Winter Solstice Parade returns to Kensington Market tonight.

And there’s a solid chance it’s going to be lit.

This evening marks the 29th annual celebration of the longest night of the year, and you can count on it being a warm and bright affair.

The event will begin at 6:30 pm with a gathering at the corner of Augusta and Oxford. The parade will start at 7 pm.

Photos from last year show crowds of people keeping warm in a parade featuring masks and homemade lanterns, all illuminated by the glow of fire breathers and spinners.

If you’ve never been out to this event, get yourself over to Kensington tonight. This celebration is going to be fire.
