This Toronto aquarium is throwing a huge New Year's Eve party this year

While it’s a rite of passage to watch the fireworks at Nathan Phillips Square on New Year’s Eve, if you’re looking to switch it up this year you may want to head to Ripley’s Aquarium.

For the first time ever, the aquarium is staying open late on New Year’s Eve, giving partygoers the chance to ring in the new year and experience the aquarium in a whole new way.

The 19+ event will feature delicious hors d’oeuvres by Daniel et Daniel, a live set from DJ Shamz, and full bars located throughout the aquarium galleries. So if you’ve been dreaming of sipping on champagne as a shark swims overhead, this is your chance.

Guests are asked to dress to impress, think red carpet formal, and then join the aquarium as it counts down to midnight.

But remember to keep your glittery gills flapping as the festivities will continue well past midnight.

Tickets can be purchased online for $90 and includes general admission access, one drink token, hors d’oeuvres, coat check, and a photo at the Ripley’s Photo Port.
