City of Toronto launches app to make 'eco-friendly' shopping easier
You can now discover Toronto businesses that offer environmentally-friendly products and services a heck of a lot easier thanks to a new app.
Live Green Perks is a free City of Toronto app that gives Torontonians exclusive access to green discounts and deals at local businesses and invitations to special events and contests throughout the city.
It’s the perfect service for those who are new to the green space and are interested in learning about local and international companies that offer discounts on their green related products and services.
Past companies to offer deals on the Live Green app include MEC, H&M, Fresh City Farms, Fresh Restaurants, and Balzac’s Coffee to name a few.
The app is extremely user-friendly and is compatible with both Android and iOs devices.
To get instant access to hundreds of deals on eco-friendly products and services you simply open the app, search for green partners companies around you.

Then once you’ve discovered the deals you like, you save them to your app and then you simply flash your Live Green Perks app to claim discounts at your favourite stores – just as you would with a loyalty card.
The best part? Aside from supporting green and sustainable initiatives in the community, for every 20 deals you claim on the app one tree will be planted on your behalf. How amazing is that?
Every tree will be planted in the Live Green Forest in the Smith Ness Forest Conservation Area in the Niagara region.
