If you’re looking for a great summer hike near Toronto, grab your bathing suit and start getting excited – we’ve got just the place.

DeCew Falls is located just 15 minutes south of St. Catharines, or about 1.5 hours from Toronto (on a good traffic day).

There is both an upper and lower falls for you to discover as well as the chance to hit up the Bruce Trail for a beautiful hike. Of course, it’s the waterfalls you’re going to want to make a point of seeing the most though.

The upper DeCew falls is a 22-metre plunge waterfall while the lower is a smaller 8-metre cascade variety, both of which are stunning in their own way. (Especially in your Instagram feed.)

Pro tip: you can actually scramble down into the gorge further along the trail – be careful, it’s steep, slippery, and muddy right now – to get up close to the upper falls and even step behind them.

Throw in an adorable old mill, a tire swing, and a beautiful summer day and this could be the perfect weekend road trip.

Just don’t forget your bathing suit. And be careful!
