Toronto is under a severe thunderstorm watch.

While it is warm right now in Toronto, Environment Canada has issued a severe thunderstorm watch for the city, stating that conditions are “favourable for the development of severe thunderstorms that may be capable of producing strong wind gusts.”

A cold front with strong wind gusts of up to 90 km per hour are possible, as showers and thunderstorms roll into Southern Ontario this afternoon.

Environment Canada says that some of the thunderstorms may be severe, and have said that hail is also possible.

“Lightning kills and injures Canadians every year. Remember, when thunder roars, go indoors,” states the warning.

The thunderstorm should ease up by tonight, and temperatures will drop tomorrow but it sunny skies are still being forecasted.
