Toronto is not the only city under a weather advisory right now.
Almost all of Southern Ontario is dealing with freezing rain, prompting weather warnings all around the province.
Environment Canada issues the warning when “rain falling in sub-zero temperatures creates ice build-up and icy surfaces.”

And with the warning, Toronto Hydro already encouraging residents to be prepared for possible outages around the city.

According to the weather agency, freezing rain is likely this evening in Toronto.
“A significant area of precipitation is expected to move into the area early this evening,” reads the city’s warning, issued this afternoon. “A few hours of freezing rain are possible before precipitation changes to rain later in the evening, especially for areas away from Lake Ontario.”
Environment Canada warns also warns that surfaces such as highways, roads, walkways and parking lots may become icy and slippery.
Be sure to take extra care when walking or driving in affected areas.
