Sail-In Cinema is coming back to Toronto this summer.

This August 10 and 11, Sugar Beach will once again be turned into the largest outdoor theatre the city has ever seen.

For the first time, the free movie event will be condensed into two action-packed nights that feature all of the same exciting activities, free treats and family fun enjoyed by movie-goers over the past seven years.

This year’s theme looks at life outside the ordinary with movies based on the idea of adventure “In Other Worlds”.

Once again, movie fans will be able to determine the movies presented at the festival by voting from a shortlist of 10 films to be announced soon. Voting will open May 16 and will determine the two films that will be screened.

According to organizers, Sail-In Cinema will also feature a state-of-the-art cinematic experience this year that introduces new double-sided high definition digital screens and custom configured audio. Nearly two-storeys tall, the screen is anchored to a barge floating in Lake Ontario, giving audiences the unique opportunity to watch their favourite films by land or by boat.

The best part? It’s completely FREE.
