Jollibee finally opens the doors to its first Toronto location at 7 am on April 1 and no, this is not an April Fools Day prank.
The arrival of the fast-food chain from the Philippines has been hotly anticipated since it was first announced and contributing to the hype: the restaurant is giving away a year-worth of FREE Jolly Crispy Chicken (a monthly six-piece bucket) to the first 40 customers to make a minimum $30 purchase.
The first 300 customers can also look forward receiving a FREE collectible plush doll.
The first person in line, Paul Mogbujos, arrived at 2:30 pm and by 5 pm, at least a dozen others looked prepared to camp out overnight in the Kennedy Common parking lot despite the very rainy and windy weather – luckily, Jollibee erected tents to keep the die-hard queue sheltered.
