OPP warning Toronto drivers to stay off the road due to ice storm

Apr 16 2018, 12:35 am

We knew this was coming, but it still hurts.

Snow, sleet, freezing rain, and ice pellets have been smacking Toronto in the mouth all weekend long now, and it looks like it’s not about to stop.

According to Environment Canada’s latest update, there’s both a freezing rain warning in effect as well as a heavy rainfall warning.

The OPP are recommending all non-essential travel be cancelled today:

More than 700 collisions have taken place in the GTA since the storm hit Saturday morning.

Stay safe out there, Toronto. April truly is the cruellest month.
