Rideshare app Lyft launches cheaper carpool option in Toronto

Lyft has launched its carpool option in Toronto.

Labeled as ‘Lyft Line,’ Toronto is the first international city to get the Lyft expansion.

“Line is designed to reduce the number of cars on the road and offer a more affordable transportation option by encouraging passengers to share the ride,” explained a Lyft post on the new option. “Line connects you with other rides going the same way, and always costs less than standard Lyft.”

The new option will be available when requests are high in demand based on traffic patterns.

To celebrate its launch, Lyft is offering commuters up to $10 off a Line ride to King Street between Bathurst and Jarvis using code: KINGSTREETPILOT through April 8. Details are available in the Promo tab on the app.
