Frankie’s Italian bringing old country eats and all-day brunch to Toronto this month

Mar 14 2018, 8:51 pm

Lil’ Baci in Leslieville might have shuttered but pasta, pizza, and more Italian eats won’t be absent in the neighbourhood for long.

Partners Mark Bacci, Riyaz Somani, and Suresh Singh, the same team behind Lil’ Baci and sister spot, Annabelle Pasta Bar, are launching a new concept, Frankie’s Italian, at the Queen East address.

Expect italian staples and all-day brunch on the menu.

Slated to open on March 23, the new spot will serve up “in-house, handmade pastas, mains and sides, all at approachable prices,” according to a press release.

Chef Brandyn Koester of Annabelle Pasta Bar will helm the kitchen and introduce pizza made with long-fermented dough, and sandwiches on baked-to-order bread.

To drink, Italian labels dominate the wine list and the Negroni bar (open daily at 4 pm) will deal in Rose Hip & Ginger refreshments, frizzante, and others.

The new eatery plans to operate seven days a week, and in addition to eat-in and take-out options for lunch and dinner, look forward to an all-day brunch menu and coffee program featuring BOB Coffee and a range of pastries and grab-and-go options.
