New restaurant from The Food Dudes opening this summer
The Food Dudes are some busy dudes. The catering company and growing restaurant group just recently relaunched Omaw on Ossington, and two new pizzerias called Blondies are already in the works, now they’ve also announced a spin-off to their Harbord Village spot, Rasa.
Sara, expected to open on August 1, occupies a minimalist space at King and Portland and is “shaping up to be the most elegantly-designed dining space in the city,” according to a newsletter.
Described as “modern fine dining,” Chef Adrian Niman shares with Daily Hive that the restaurant will be open for lunch and dinner, six days a week.
Drawing inspiration from Japan (Sara is Japanese for “small dish”), the restaurant will serve up chopped salad with protein and toasts at lunch, Meanwhile, at dinner look forward to snacks like vegan charcuterie, contemporary dim sum featuring scratch-made dumpling doughs, robata (Japanese BBQ), small plates (like chow mein noodles with spicy fermented black bean sauce), and desserts!
