Malaysian coffee bun king PappaRoti is opening a GTA location

We’re patiently waiting for Malaysian roti bun-maker PappaRoti – aka “the father of all buns” – to open its first bakery in Toronto proper at 270 Spadina Avenue in June, but there’s already another location in the works.

The worldwide chain is planning on opening a second location in the GTA, this time at Mississauga’s Square One Shopping Centre, and it’s tentatively set to open in September 2018.

The brand had previously held an outpost at Bramalea City Center in 2017, but it was only open for a short stint, so it’s safe to say we’re looking forward to having two permanent spots to grab those addictive crispy-on-the-outside-warm-on-the-inside buns.

The chain had humble beginnings opening a single store in Malaysia in 2003. Today, PappaRoti has over 400 stores and kiosks worldwide including Canadian outposts in Vancouver and Montreal.
