Experience design at this year's DX Intersection (CONTEST)

Museums aren’t just for stodgy professors – Canada’s Design Exchange, or DX, shows off design’s importance to everyday life in interesting and innovative ways.

The design museum will host DX Intersection, its annual fundraising event on November 4. This year’s theme, Dispatch, offers a new view on how Canadians are making unique connections in design, art, and culture.

For the event, DX will be transformed by interactive and multi-sensory installations by some of Canada’s innovative designers: Space Animator, RAW Design, Sarah Keenlyside, and Joseph Clement.

“DX Intersection is our annual ode to the country’s creative community; a chance to showcase interdisciplinary design and unexpected collaborations,” says Shauna Levy, president and CEO of Design Exchange.

“The event is an integral moment for us to bring design innovators and enthusiasts together in one space, supporting a collective vision of building Canada’s design culture and making it accessible and inclusive to all.”

DX Intersection: Dispatch will honour Canadians Tyler Brûlé and Charles Bombardier for their dedication to design and innovation.

Tyler Brûlé is a journalist and entrepreneur who demonstrates the importance of collaboration between design disciplines. Charles Bombardier is an engineer and innovator, recently named the Most Innovative Person in Industrial Design at the 2016 Innovation and Entrepreneurship conference. Both are trailblazers in their fields and extremely influential in Canadian and global design communities.

Tickets for DX Intersection: Dispatch are available online, and get you access to the installations, award ceremony, fundraiser party, and cocktails.

Proceeds from the event will go towards supporting design education – plus you’ll get a complimentary membership for DX and a chance to win some sweet raffle prizes.
