This is what it looks like in Calgary this morning (PHOTOS)

October 2 or December 2?

It’s hard to tell in the city of Calgary where up to over 10 cm of snow fell over the night. Calgarians woke up this morning to snow-covered lawns and some serious shovelling work ahead.

The snow was caused by a low-pressure system that formed over BC and moved east over the Rocky Mountains, according to a special weather statement on Monday from Environment Canada.

That special weather statement has since been upgraded to a full snowfall warning for the city (obviously) and states that up to 45 cm can be expected for towns closer to the Rockies like Banff and Canmore.

The snow in Calgary may be making for quite the frustrating morning commute, but we must admit that it makes for one amazing sight.

Here are a few of our favourite photos showing the snowfall that Calgary saw just this morning.
