It often feels as if skating trails near Toronto are a dime a dozen.

But it just so happens that Blue Mountain Resort’s Woodview Mountaintop Skating is home to a skating trail that’s unlike anything you’ve experienced before.

For starters, the 1.1 km skating trail is located on top of a picturesque mountain, nestled between the top of the Orchard Express and Southern Comfort chairlifts.

Here skaters can experience ice skating through a trail covered in snowy evergreens as they take in incredible views of the Georgian Bay.

If this skating trail wasn’t already cool enough, Blue Mountain also offers night skating, where the trail is illuminated by hundreds of tiki torches once the sun goes down.

After your skate, you can relax with a hot chocolate while enjoying the beauty of Blue Mountain.

Considering Blue Mountain is just over two hours from the city, there’s no reason not to experience this incredible trail this winter.

The opening date has yet to be announced and a spokesperson for Blue Mountain says it’s weather dependent. However, considering snow has arrived in Toronto, we have a feeling it will be opening soon.

In case you didn’t make it to the mountain last winter, here are some photos to show you what you missed out on.
