Hundreds of students marched down Avenue Parc today protesting for action in climate change.
High school students from all over the city have been skipping classes on Fridays as part of an international movement to have their voices heard about global warming.
Today’s protest garnered impressive numbers as herds of college and university students joined in as well.

The march stretched from the Georges Étienne-Cartier statue at the base of Mont Royal and spanned all the way to Place des Arts.
Drummers, singers and clappers drowned out the sounds of Montreal as the students took hold of the streets.
The protests are part of a movement that was initiated by 16-year-old Greta Thunberg out of Sweden whose activism and stance against global warming earned her a Nobel Peace Prize nomination.
If you weren’t around to witness the protest, these pictures and videos do a pretty good job at demonstrating that the students got their point across.
