As of today, cannabis is officially legal in Canada, making this country the second in the world – and the first G7 nation – to do so.
Today in Canada, adults who are 18 or 19 years of age and older, depending on the province or territory, can now legally possess and purchase up to 30 grams of dried cannabis or its equivalent from provincially or territorially authorized retailers. Possession of small amounts of cannabis is no longer a criminal offence. And legally, households in most provinces will also be allowed to grow their own weed.
We’ve done some research and narrowed down the cheapest cannabis being sold on each provincial and territory government websites.
Prices range from $6.89 per gram in Newfoundland to $13.13 per gram in the Northwest Territories. Not all these prices factor in taxes or delivery fees.
