Vancouver has just seen another cannabis shop open its doors, as Kerrisdale will be getting the city’s first Atheneum Cannabis retail location.

The Atheneum team is led by former residents of the Kerrisdale community, and a release from the company boasts “over 30 years of retail experience.”

“Bridging the ‘quality’ and ‘value’ gap between the regulated and illicit cannabis markets has been an interesting challenge for Licensed Cannabis Retailers,” said Amanda Safarik, advisor and spokesperson to Atheneum Cannabis, in a release. “At Atheneum we are determined to narrow this gap through educating ourselves on the product offerings and production practices of federally licensed suppliers and sourcing only the highest-quality products, while also maintaining competitive prices for our valued customers.”

As for what’s on offer, expect a full suite of dried flower, gel capsules, and cannabis 2.0 products like drinks, edibles, and teas.

Atheneum also partnered with designer Janine Spartano to develop the concept for the interior of the store.

“The goal was to create a warm and inviting space where members of the community would feel welcomed by Atheneum’s dedicated team to learn more about this exciting new industry,” Safarik added.

The store is also putting a series of safety measures in place to comply with Provincial rules around the pandemic. These include Click-and-Collect express pick-up service, routine sanitization throughout the store, and more.

Located at 2431 West 41st Avenue, next to Minerva’s restaurant, the store is open 10 am to 10 pm, seven days a week.
