The Factory Party is finally back in Calgary this October

The Factory Party is finally back in Calgary after a six-year hiatus, reviving the spirit of iconic artist Andy Warhol’s legendary NYC parties once more.

This year’s Factory Party, on Saturday, October 22, will be held at the Centennial Planetarium, as the official After Party for the LOOK2016 gala.

The Factory Party was introduced to Calgary in 2008 in the spirit of Warhol’s infamous parties at his Manhattan studio, which he named “The Factory.”

This year in Calgary, The Factory Party will be showcasing exceptional visual artists, with over-the-top art installations, and live music acts, with guest DJs.

Bands playing include The Famines, an art cult noise garage duo based out of Montreal, and Calgary-born indie rock band Bad Animal.

As well, you can enjoy Crack Cloud, “a snarling, convulsive punk band blanketed in glistening jangle-pop vibes.”

There will also be a cash bar, a silent auction, and the chance to enjoy some of the LOOK2016 art installations, curated by Contemporary Calgary and The Factory Party.

LOOK2016 is a gala fundraising event featuring infamous US comedian Steve Martin, one of the country’s biggest live art auctions, and interactive art installations.
