Four of Calgary’s female entrepreneurs are coming together for a pop-up market you won’t want to miss.
The owners of Alora boutique jewellery company, Tiffany Lynn Cuffley Art, Stresscase, and Lune Obvallata will be setting up shop at Calgary’s East Village Junction this summer for an all-female marketplace, running from May 18 to September 3.
The marketplace is a continuation of the SHE [EMPOWERS] International Women’s Day Market that ran on March 8.
President of Alora Jameela Ghann said in a release that the summer market aims to continue on the foundation laid by the March market.
“I find that the best path for female empowerment is through economic empowerment,” said Ghann in the release.
“She [EMPOWERS] is a vehicle for women in this city to showcase and accelerate their businesses in Calgary. I am excited for this platform and I think it will continue to grow!”
Ghann will be joined by Tiffany Lynn Cuffley (Tiffany Lynn Cuffley Art), Karen Pickles (Stresscase), and Lianna Hung (Lune Obvallata) this summer at the unique pop-up location.
“There is something very inspiring about being a female entrepreneur surrounded by a community of other strong women who are like-minded in the sense that we are here to support each other while we are paving our own way,” said Lynn Cuffley in the release.
“Though we may run different types of businesses and have different ways of running them, at the end of the day, it is a community of women who respect and support each other because we know the work that is being put into what we are doing every day.”
The women will be setting up in the colourful shipping containers of East Village Junction, a pop-up shop location that is where “shipping meets shopping and container meets culture,” according to the release.
