If you’ve ever been in Calgary during the second week of July, you know just how wild the city can get during the Calgary Stampede.

It seems that there’s always something going on, new things to see, and cool events to check out — not just at the Stampede Grounds, but all over the city.

And, while walking all over Calgary in the summer heat is a great way to sweat off the mini doughnuts (or whatever else) that have become a staple in your diet, it’s not quite the easiest way to get from A to B.

Thankfully for you, the city has decided to offer discounted transit passes for the days of the Stampede (July 5 to 15), and they’re currently available for pre-purchase.

The day passes will be valid for one full day (and until 4 am the following day, for those of you planning on staying out late at the Cowboys Tent), and are going for the discounted price of $6.50 for adults.

Given how the usual day pass price is $10.50, you’ll end up saving upwards of $40 if you purchase a day pass for every day of the festivities.

A choice that we highly recommend you take, as a day at the Stampede + operating a motor vehicle = a bad time.

The discount passes are available at 7-Eleven, Mac’s, Safeway, City Hall Cashiers, and Calgary Transit Customer Service Centre locations.

Passes will also be made available for purchase from ticket vending machines at CTrain Stations during the Stampede, though the sooner is always the better in our eyes.
