An abundance of sunshine and terribly cold temperatures are kind of what makes Calgary Calgary, right?
We’ll be seeing a lot of that classic combination this upcoming week, with Mother Nature giving us a rest from the relentless snow by opening up those clouds and letting the sun shine on in.
Don’t get ahead of yourself here, though, it’s not as if that sunlight will actually make things warm or anything. Temperatures are still expected to get as low as -18°C this week, though it will “warm” up to 0°C.
The week does actually start off with a chance of snow on Tuesday, though at a “30% chance of flurries” it’s not something we’d reccomend betting on. The maybe-snow-filled clouds will make way by Wednesday, leaving an entire week of sun, sun, and more sun.
Wednesday and Thursday will hover around -10°C during the day, and getting down to a biting -18°C once the sun goes down.
Friday actually brings some warmth (or at least a lack of cold), with a high of 0°C and a low of -8°C.
Hey, we’ll take what we can get over here.
Saturday and Sunday aren’t quite as blisteringly hot as Friday, but will stay around -2°C for the most part.
With just over one month left until the first day of spring, things are looking hopeful for our cold Canadian city… Let’s just hope that luck holds out.
Fingers crossed!
