Summer means warmer weather, longer days, and more time on patios.

Finding a licensed, dog-friendly patio so your four-legged friend can sit beside you is hard in Calgary due to health authority rules. But, you can always tether your pup to the railing of the patio while you both enjoy some sun.

If you’re a dog owner and don’t know where to take your beloved pet so you can grab a bite to eat, we’ve got you covered. We’ve sniffed out some of the best dog-friendly patios in Calgary for you.

Sandstone Lounge

The Sandstone Lounge is located within the Hyatt Regency hotel. Check out their outdoor patio for a great view of downtown Calgary, especially all lit up at night.

Ranchman’s Cookhouse and Dancehall

Ranchman’s is the first dog licensed patio in Canada. You can bring your four-legged friend and have some lunch with them outside and enjoy the summer weather, water is provided but it’s BYOT (bring-your-own-treats).

The Farmer’s House

The Farmer’s House is a restaurant nestled in a farmer’s market. You can bring your four-legged friend with you with you browse some shops, after when you feel like some food they have a specific area you can tether your dog to while you tuck into a sandwich.

This local haunt lets you lease up your pooch right next to the patio so you can enjoy some time with your pet while you tuck into a beer.

Caffee Beano’s great coffee will keep you in high spirits on early morning walks with your dog. The outdoor benches are great to leash up your dog in some shade, so they can snooze, and you can finish your morning java.

Vin Room

The Vin Room allows dog owners (at both locations) to bring their pooches with them onto the patio Sundays through Wednesdays. The restaurant is licensed for pets and even offers lounging furniture, a dog bed, hydration centre and a cleanup station for the inevitable accidents. While you spoil yourself with some wine you can spoil your four-legged friend with some baked treats from Bon A Pet Treat Bakery.
