BREAKING: Active firearm situation on-going, CPS warns Abbeydale residents to take shelter

UPDATE as of 1:45 pm:

A release from the Calgary Police Service has stated that the suspect has been found dead. The shelter warning for the area is no longer in place.

UPDATE as of 1:05 pm: 

The Calgary Police Service has confirmed that a male member of the CPS was shot, and has since been taken to hospital. The latest release from CPS states that he is in stable condition.

Anyone in the area of the 100 block of Abingdon Way NE are being asked to shelter in place, as the situation is still ongoing.

An alert from the Calgary Police Service states that they are responding to an active firearm situation in Calgary’s Abbeydale neighbourhood.

Police are asking people near the 100 block of Abingdon Way NE to take shelter where they are until more information has been made available.
