Yule Duel: Vancouver's largest outdoor carolling competition returns to Gastown

DH Vancouver Staff Nov 09, 2016 2:52 am 1,522

Vancouver’s largest outdoor carolling competition returns to Gastown to kick off the holiday season.

Yule Duel brings together 20 of the city’s top choirs to sing their hearts out and raise money for May’s Place, which provides compassionate hospice care to vulnerable people in the Downtown Eastside.

The choirs will be singing along Water Street on December 1 in hopes of performing in a sing-off on the main stage. People can root for their favourite choir by purchasing a $5 button and placing a vote.

For the grand finale, a panel of celebrity judges will select their favourite choirs from those with the most votes and the final choices will battle it out on stage to become the Yule Duel champion.
