One person dead after multi-vehicle accident in North Vancouver

A 63-year-old Vancouver driver after a multi-vehicle accident in North Vancouver on Monday afternoon.

At approximately 3:45 pm on January 9th the driver was heading south in north Vancouver, along a section of Highway 1 commonly referred to as “the cut,” police said in statement.

A four-vehicle collision occurred and the 63-year-old died as a result of the accident.

Minor injuries were received by the other drivers and passengers.

The incident is considered a fatal criminal investigation and the RCMP Port Mann Highway Patrol is conducting the ongoing investigation.

Highway traffic was diverted for several hours to facilitate the gathering of investigative evidence by the RCMP Integrated Collision Analysis and Reconstruction Service (ICARS).

Police are asking that any witnesses to this incident call the Port Mann Highway Patrol at 604-526-9744 and quote file 2017-115.
