The Vancouver Whitecaps have made their biggest move of the offseason, according to a report out of South Korea.
Korean newspaper Kyunghyang Shinmun reports that the Whitecaps have acquired Hwang In-beom for a transfer fee of 2 billion won ($1.8 million USD).

In-beom is a 22-year-old midfielder that played most recently for Daejeon Citizen FC in K League 2. He was part of South Korea’s 2018 Asian Games-winning team last summer.
The South Korean international has made 12 appearances for the senior national team, scoring once. He has over 100 appearances in the first and second divisions in South Korea, scoring 16 times sinceĀ debuting in K League 1 in 2015. He’s been in K League 2 since 2016.
Vancouver has been rumoured to be interested in In-beom since December. He also drew interest from clubs in Germany’s Bundesliga, according to reports.
