FEATURED ON THE LISTED GUIDE
The Victory Square Block Party is back, showcasing the best of Vancouver music, art and food trucks in the Downtown Eastside this September.
This year, you can rock out for free at the party at Cambie and Hastings on Sunday, September 9, to an eclectic mix of musicians headlining.
From contemplative electronica, to hip hop, jangly pop, art-punk, new-wave mesh and irreverent hardcore, there’s something for everyone.
Here’s the full lineup:
The Victory Square Block Party, now in its 12th year, is partly supporting Megaphone Magazine, which is sold by homeless and low-income vendors in Vancouver and Victoria.
The event will also be raising funds for CiTR 101.9FM/Discorder Magazine, Vancouver’s independent community and campus-based broadcaster.
“The Victory Square Block Party does an incredible job helping bridge communities in the Downtown Eastside while building something that everyone can feel a part of,” says Sean Condon, Executive Director of Megaphone Magazine.
“It really is about being inclusive towards all in the neighbourhood, no matter your background… The Block Party has become a community asset — one that everyone can be proud of.”
