Good news dog lovers! This week you’ll get a chance to meet some of the four-legged friends featured in the 2017 Vancouver Police Dogs Calendar – and grab a copy for yourself too.
The calendar is funded by the Candy Anfield Memorial Foundation, in memory of Candy Anfield, a VPD officer who died of breast cancer in 2004.
All money raised from the calendar goes to the BC Cancer Foundation and the BC Children’s Hospital Foundation. So far the calendars have raised $160,000.
As an extra treat, on Tuesday morning, the VPD Canine Unit will be at the corner of Granville and Georgia Street for a special sidewalk sale of the calendar.
Members of the public are invited to stop by, speak with the handlers, meet their dogs, and purchase a calendar for $15.
If you can’t make it to the sidewalk sale, you can get your calendar at the following locations:
- VPD Public Information Counters
- 3585 Graveley Street
- 2120 Cambie Street
- Vancouver Community Policing Centres
- Vancouver Police Museum – 240 East Cordova Street, Vancouver
- BC Cancer Foundation – #150 – 686 West Broadway, Vancouver
- BC Children’s Hospital Foundation – 938 West 28th Avenue, Vancouver
- Tisol Pet Nutrition and Supply Stores in Vancouver
