Wesbrook Village Festival 2018

Wesbrook Village Festival

  • What: The annual festival is a fusion of fun, food, and entertainment. Enjoy a sidewalk sale, indulge in tasty BBQ fare during the free signature BBQ lunch, and delight in delicious samples from local eateries and community retailers. Enjoy live entertainment from Will Stroet, Dr. StrangeloveBeauty Shop Dolls, and Aché Brasil. There’s also going to be a kids zone complete with face-painting, craft tables, bouncy castles, and even a rock climbing wall.

Surrey’s Pie in the Plaza 2018

  • What: This annual celebration of the city’s local agri-food sector is running for its third consecutive year. This free event features live music by local Celtic-Canadian folk-rock group the Pat Chessell Band, a ventriloquist performance by Norma McKnight, pony rides, face painting, an inflatable corn maze, vendor booths, and the pièce de résistance – a giant, 8-foot 2,000-slice blueberry pie. Pie will be served right after the opening ceremonies at 12:30 pm, so be sure to plan accordingly.

RISK!

  • What: RISK! is a live show and podcast where people tell true stories they never thought they’d dare to share. Founded in 2009 by Kevin Allison of MTV’s sketch comedy show, The State, RISK! has been downloaded tens of millions of times and has featured true stories from Sarah Silverman, Kevin Nealon, Dan Savage, Margaret Cho, Andy Dick, Michael Ian Black, and regular folks from around the world.

In-N-Out at the Langley Good Times Cruise-In

  • What: The famous American chain, known for its massive 3×3 burgers and animal fries, will be coming to the Langley Good Times Cruise-In, a large-scale charity event for retro car enthusiasts.

TEDxVancouver 2018

  • What: TEDxVancouver is giving attendees the chance to find out how to change the world. An astounding lineup of leaders, activists, visionaries, champions, pioneers, and authors, to name a few, will be sharing their story at the Chan Centre for Performing Arts. The theme for this year’s event is “How To.” Speakers will share their experiences, journeys, and accomplishments, revealing what it was like and how they did so in the process.

  • What: Hundreds of rare classics and modern supercars worth more than $250M will be on display. Visitors can see high-end models from Pagani, Lamborghini, McLaren, Bugatti, Ferrari, and Koenigsegg, among others with the serene VanDusen Botanical Garden as a backdrop. Highlights of the weekend include a display of the first Porsche ever made, the Singer Porsche William DLS worth $2.2M, the Dino Ferrari, and the official Canadian public launch of the Pagani Huayra BC, worth $4.5M. Other events taking place over the two-day celebration include a $10M luxury and supercar auction, a piano concert in the garden, and two high-fashion runway shows presented by Oakridge Centre.
