Laugh your way through the last week of August! Stand-up, parody songs, and a Vancouver Fringe preview – here is our list of five comedy events to check out in Vancouver from August 25 to 31.

Garrett Clark

  • What: Garrett has performed at three of the prestigious Just For Laughs Festivals (Montreal, Toronto and Vancouver) and has opened for Todd Barry and Iliza Shlesinger. He was also selected among the “Best of Fest” at Big Pine Comedy Festival in Flagstaff, Arizona and recently headlined shows all across Scotland.

  • What: Marito started his comedy career back in 2009 in Calgary, Alberta. His fiery, high-energy and charismatic persona has landed him on stages and screens across the country, including appearances at the Hubcap Comedy Festival, NXNE, JFL42, MTV Canada and countless comedy clubs in between. Also featuring Jarrett Campbell, KC Novak, Kevin Von Helvete, Sam Tonning, and hosted by Alex Biron.

Weird Al Karaoke

  • What: Vancouver comedians perform parody songs in the style of Weird Al. Featuring performances by Andrew MacLachlan, Nathan Hare, Racquel Belmonte and more.

Stacked Comedy

  • What: Stacked Comedy is a weekly Monday night Stand Up Comedy showcase in the heart of Kitsilano. It features a rotating cast of top Vancouver comedians as well touring headliners from across the US and Canada.

  • What: A double-bill preview of Vancouver Fringe shows Almost a Stepmom and Fifty Shades of Dave. The former is a darkly comic tale about the ups and downs of becoming a stepmother. The latter is a tastefully risqué parody of The Vinyl Cafe with three original stories that thrust Stuart McLean’s classic Canadian couple, Dave and Morley, into situations you’ve never heard on the CBC.
