Vancouver Christmas Market 2017 offers Canada's first-ever walk-in Christmas tree
If you’ve ever wanted to stand inside a giant Christmas tree and marvel at the thousands of twinkling lights surrounding you, we’ve got the ultimate gram for you.
This year, Vancouver Christmas Market is playing host to Canada’s first ever walk-in Christmas tree, making all our Insta wishes come true.
The tree is 30 feet tall and decorated with 36,000 twinkling lights, and best of all, entry is included in your $10 ticket to the market.

The German-style market is open in Jack Poole Plaza until Sunday, December 24, and is expected to welcome more than 215,000 visitors this season.
Bigger than ever before, this year’s market boasts 75 huts selling sweets and gifts, as well as the spectacular tree and lots more family fun.
The Christmas Pyramid this year is taller than ever, with the addition of a brand new
“Flying Stage” perched 10 feet high above the market.
The stage will host a lineup of festive entertainment daily, providing a steady stream of seasonal favourites, including jazz, blues, folk, pop, classical, and gospel.
As well, you can enjoy the Christmas Carousel, or sneak inside the warming Alpine Haus tent, designed to give 250 revellers room to escape the winter cold.
As for food, there’ll be a smorgasbord of seasonal sustenance for you to savour.
Seasonal treats include bratwurst sausage, gulasch stew, spätzle noodles, schnitzel, kartoffelpuffer potato pancakes, and strudel pastries.
If German food isn’t your style, there’s also local food available, like fresh, sustainable seafood from Eat F.I.S.H. and made-from-scratch Sicilian cannoli by the Cannoli King.
And of course when it comes to washing all those delicacies down, there’ll be plenty of hot glühwein (spiced mulled wine) available to warm your inner Grinch.
For those with less seasonal tastes, you’ll also be able to try award-winning German-style wine from Wild Goose Winery, and organic beer from Persephone Brewing Co..
Plus, opt in for the $50 Mistletoe Combo for two, and you’ll get express lane access, two limited edition collector mugs, two traditional beverages, two unlimited carousel day passes, a photo session, and two 2017 season passes.
In a release, Malte Kluetz, founder and president of the market, said the team is delighted to return to Jack Poole Plaza for the 2017 celebrations.
