The 22nd annual Vancouver Asian Film Festival returns next month
FEATURED ON THE LISTED GUIDE
The countdown is on until the 22nd annual Vancouver Asian Film Festival (VAFF).
The highly-anticipated, four-day event will be taking over Chinatown’s International Village Cineplex Odeon from Thursday, November 1 to Sunday, November 4, celebrating Asian culture and diversity in film.
This year’s theme is “Infusian,” putting the spotlight upon artists, agitators, thinkers, and innovators who help change the lives of contemporary Canadians.
The VAFF lineup boasts 13 film programs and three industry panels, including the public premiere of the “We Heart Canada + Japan 90” film project, as well as 35 feature-length and short films of all genres.
12 Canadian premieres, five world premieres, and six local premieres are included in the wide range of movies.
Over thirty filmmakers and panellists will be making an appearance and over 4,000 attendees are expected at the event. In addition, this year, exactly 50% of directors are female.
A full schedule of the festival can be found online. Tickets for single screenings are available for $12; tickets to industry insight panels can be purchased for $15, both of which are available online or in-person.
