There's a new Mexican street food spot opening in Vancouver
It has only been a few days since much-loved plant-forward eatery Lucha Verde closed its doors for good on July 22, but we already know what’s going to take its place.
Tormenta, a new destination for Mexican street food, will be setting up shop in the 1326 Davie Street restaurant.

Here’s what patrons can expect according to Lucha Verde’s Instagram account, which announced the new concept on July 24:
BBQ Jackfruit, Cauli, Chickpea Fritters, Elote, etc. A few of the same staff – minus a jerk or two. A new partner – so plus one jerk. AND a bunch of new menu items and daily drink specials!! Follow them and enjoy the adventure!!
Looks like Lucha is getting a makeover and shifting to a new chapter, or as their Instagram put it to one commenter, “Lucha Verde is gone. This is the new joint.”
