These days it’s not out of the ordinary to see crazy over the top desserts at cafes and restaurants in Metro Vancouver–in fact, it’s practically expected.

If your list of must-try sweet treats is already in existence, we may have a new addition to your lineup – these incredible tall mega-slushies from The One Restaurant in Burnaby.

This spot, located at 5908 Kingsway, is a popular destination for Taiwanese cuisine including noodles, dumplings, and chicken fried rice – but when it comes to the treats, the slushies here definitely take the cake in terms of impressing patrons.

The sheer sight of these bad boys is shocking – the ice is shaved thin and piled high, so high, that it’s hard to believe these creations are even able to stay up for a photo. It takes some skill to set the ice up right, but once it’s set, The One staff deliver it to wide-eyed customers.

The One Restaurant offers this specialty in a variety of flavours including Red Bean, Green Bean, Peanut, Taro, Mixed Beans, Condensed Milk, Strawberry, Pudding, Mango, Pineapple, Watermelon, and Purple Plum to name a few.

The menu also has the option for diners to add on fresh fruit and include a coconut and grass jelly or pearls, along with various fruit syrups to make it a bubble tea-like texture.

This masterpiece starts at $6.95, a pretty great price considering you’ll be conquering the Mount Everest of slushies – but your total can vary depending on the extras you choose to incorporate into your custom blend.

This is one of those “If you didn’t take a photo, did it even happen?” dishes – so be sure to show up to The One Restaurant with an empty stomach and a fully-charged phone.
