Just when you think the Tacofino Gastown Burrito Bar couldn’t get any better, they add more mind-blowing varieties of warm-tortilla-wrapped goodness to the menu.
These are nacho average burritos – the team at Tacofino has taken your favourite flavours and elevated them by combining new sauces, proteins, and veggies like never before.
The new flavours include a Cod Barbacoa Burrito, consisting of cod, white beans, rice, pasilla mayo, cabbage, pickled onion, verde, cilantro, and crispy shallots.
A stand-out new menu item, The Scrapple Burrito, features a falafel-like squash and chickpea fritter, rice, arugula mix, tomato salad, feta, lime crema, verde, and cilantro. The name may sound funny at first, but there’s nothing laughable about this seriously delicious burrito.
The Veracruz Beef Burrito fuses a classic beef burrito and a meatball sub together into one glorious creation. This dish is a combo of tender meatballs, white beans, rice, cheese, sauerkraut slaw, arugula, crispy chick pears, and jalapeño peppers.
The new Walking Taco has chorizo, cheese sauce, bean dip, sour cream, and cilantro, and The White Bean and Cheese burrito is a can’t-miss as well.
The updated menu even has seafood covered, with the The Shrimp Burrito combining tempura shrimp, white bean, rice, cabbage jufran, lime crema, cilantro, mint, and basil.
Tacofino favourites like the Crispy Chicken Burrito and are still on the menu, but there’s nothing wrong with a few new burrito homies to keep us company, right?
Burrito lovers can still nix the tortilla and turn their burrito into a bowl, as well as substitute any protein for tofu.
The Tacofino Gastown Burrito Bar is open from Sunday to Monday from 11am to 10pm and Thursday to Saturday from 11am to midnight.
