Two pedestrians seriously injured in Surrey collision

Police are investigating a vehicle collision in Surrey that seriously injured two pedestrians.

According to the RCMP, the incident occurred at 7:37 pm on Friday when the pedestrians were struck while crossing a marked crosswalk at 128th Street and 80th Avenue in Newton.

Both pedestrians were rushed to hospital for the treatment of their injuries.

The driver of the vehicle remained at the scene and is cooperating with police. The findings of the preliminary investigation indicate alcohol and drugs were not factors.
