Surrey Greek Food Festival invites you to fill your face starting this Friday

Surrey Greek Food Festival begins this Friday, June 9, inviting revellers to enjoy Greek delicacies and dancing for more than a week.

The annual event is taking place every day until Sunday, June 18 at the Sts Constantine and Helen Greek Orthodox Community Church on 96 Avenue.

For a few dollars, you’ll be able to enjoy a whole menu of food, including souvlaki, gyros, spanakopita, and of course, baklava. They explain it thus on their Instagram:

As well as the delectable food, you’ll also be able to enjoy live performances from Greek folk dancers and singers.

You could even sign up to take part in Greek Idol, with the grand finale happening on Sunday, June 18. The winner gets a single produced and promoted locally.

Surrey Greek Food Festival

Time: Weekdays from 4 to 10 pm, weekends from noon to 10 pm

Where: Saints Constantine and Helen Greek Orthodox Community Church of Surrey – 13181 96th Avenue, Surrey

Admission: Free, although there is a charge for food and drinks
