FEATURED ON THE LISTED GUIDE
Next month, a 60-foot-tall Christmas Tree will be coming to Metro Vancouver.
To celebrate the occasion, the City of Surrey will be hosting their annual Tree Lighting Festival and Holiday Market.
Visitors will be able to enjoy live music and performances by Warren Dean Flandez, Dawn Pemberton, Lovecoast, the Westcoast Harmony Chorus, and The Piano Man.
In between sets, attendees can enjoy a number of food trucks, take part in ice carving demos, join in a five-hour road hockey game, take pictures with a life-sized snow globe, and meet a number of athletes from the BC Lions.
Children will be able to ride a miniature Christmas Train, as well as free amusement park rides from Shooting Star Amusements, including a “berry-go-round” and a miniature Ferris wheel.
And of course, what holiday celebration would be complete without a visit from Santa?
Those who need to get some holiday shopping done can find one-of-a-kind presents at their holiday market, or at least some treats to take home with you.
The 2018 Surrey Tree Lighting Festival and Holiday Market takes place on Saturday, November 24 from 12 to 7 pm, with the tree lighting at 6:30 pm.
The event, similar to last year, will be free of charge, although the Surrey Food Bank, Surrey Christmas Bureau, Sophie’s Place and the Surrey Fire Fighters’ Charitable Society will be on site collecting donations.
