Vancouver’s Pride Parade will take over the streets of downtown from noon to 3 pm this Sunday, August 5. But before the parade starts, and after it ends, the party will keep going at the Sunset Beach Festival.
The day-long event runs from 11 am to 6 pm, so revellers have the chance to check things out before the parade as well.
And whether you see it before or after the parade, it’s an event that’s not top be missed.
This year the festival will include, live music, DJs, a beer garden and various other activities.
There will also be the Community Zone and Family Zone, along Beach Avenue, where various community groups will be sharing information about the work they do. There will also be a host of activities for al to enjoy as well, including Story Time by Out on The Shelves, Ultimate Frisbee lessons by Rain City Ultimate Club, Mini History Tours by Forbidden Walking Tours, Dance lessons by Dance in Transit, a giant community paint-by-numbers mural provided by Pantillio.
The event will also feature the Together We Can Recovery Lounge – a substance free space at the Sunset Beach Festival on street level along Beach Avenue with chill out zone, games, and DJ’s spinning tracks.
So whether you show up before or after the parade, you’re sure to find a good time and maybe even some new friends.
