Where to get the best spot prawn dishes in Vancouver

With the warm weather months fast approaching and the Wild BC Spot Prawn season already upon us, a handful of restaurants around the city are offering special seafood boils, and spot prawn-focused dishes over the next few weeks and months.

We’ll be adding to this list as more events pop up, but for now, head to these eateries, slap on a bib and enjoy some amazing West Coast summer fare.

The team at YEW seafood + bar is celebrating Spring by bringing back the ultra-popular family style-Spot Prawn Boil Dining Series. Guests will tie on a bib (yours to keep) and raise a complimentary glass of CedarCreek Chardonnay to begin the evening. This feast occurs on May 20, 27, and June 3, it’s $72.76 and you can buy tickets online.

This downtown steakhouse will be offering some feature dishes to celebrate spot prawn season. The options include the BC spot prawn ceviche and BC spot prawns with Asian flavours. The Spot Prawn dishes will be offered as long as the catch is in season.

Joe Fortes will be serving fresh Spot Prawns starting Friday, May 11. The preparation will be easy, poached with butter, herbs and lemon. It will be served whole (with head and shell) and will be available by the pound on Joe’s Daily Fresh Sheet.
