Splashdown Park holds final Summer Splash fundraiser

Aug 6 2016, 3:15 am

The 18th Summer Splash event will be hitting Splashdown Park in Tsawwassen in August, before the beloved waterpark closes forever.

On August 14, Splashdown fans will be able to enjoy face painting, watermelon eating contests, egg toss, a 3-on-3 basketball competition and volleyball games.

There will also be performances from Maestro Fresh Wes, the Studio604 dancers and celebrity DJ’s Jial-14, Relik, Remsta, CStylez, Earl Da’ Pearl, Rexx and DJ Dave.

And of course…the infamous Dunk Tank.

Earlier this year, it was announced Splashdown Park, which opened in 1984, will close at the end of this season, on September 11.

The waterpark has a 242,000-gallon main pool, hot tub, and 13 slides, including three 425-foot-long high speed slides and a 320-foot-long leisure river.

The Summer Splash Finale is an annual event held in partnership with Friends United Beyond All Race (FUBAR), to raise funds for Make-A-Wish’s BC/Yukon Chapter.

The normal Splashdown Park rate is $24.99, but for the Summer Splash Finale entry will be discounted to $21.99; $3 will be donated to Make-A-Wish for every ticket sold.

BJ’s Jerk Chicken and Potato Salad will be available by $5 donation, or feel free to bring and cook your own food as BBQs will be provided.
