UPDATE: Man with machete shot by police, forces shut down of 29th Avenue Station

A police incident at 29th Avenue Station on the Expo Line is contributing to the very severe delays and crowding issues on SkyTrain this morning.

TransLink says trains are not operating at 29th Avenue Station; trains are turning back at Nanaimo and Joyce stations. Expo Line trains are only operating from Waterfront Station to Nanaimo Station and Joyce-Collingwood Station to King George and Production Way stations. A bus bridge is being formed between the affected stations.

Passengers on the Expo Line are also being asked to consider the Millennium Line as an option.

SkyTrain and bus services are already severely hampered this morning due to the surprise overnight snowfall.

Few details are are available at this time.
